General Laborer / Certified Water\Waster Water Operator

Muhlenberg Township Authority is looking for motivated individuals with good mechanical skills for a General Laborer / Certified Water\Waster Water Operator position in the water and sewer industry, with opportunities for advancement. The applicant will be required to join the Teamsters Local 429 Union upon completion of the required probation period. Applicants will be required to pass a pre-employment physical exam and drug test. Applicant must have, or be willing to obtain a CDL Drivers License with all required endorsements within the required time as a condition of continued employment.

Executive Director

The Muhlenberg Township Authority (MTA), Berks County, PA seeks a transformational leader to serve as its Executive Director (ED). The MTA provides service to approximately 10,000 sewer and water customers. The water system is supplied by groundwater wells; the sewer system is a collection system which is then transferred to an outside vendor for treatment. The ED has ultimate authority and is the dynamic force of change and advancement of the MTA. The ED reports to the Authority Board. The ED will administer an annual operating budget of approximately $12,000,000, and oversee capital projects, utilizing approximately 16 union field employees and 4 administrative employees. The MTA is in excellent financial condition with no debt and a fully funded pension plan. The MTA Board seeks an outstanding, communicative and innovative leader with demonstrated skills in business management and organizational transformation, centered on culture and workflow development. Candidates should have a minimum of five years’ senior management experience. It is preferred that the successful candidate have strong financial skills, HR, project planning experience, and demonstrated skills with federal and state grant administration. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Business or Public administration. Candidates with a combination of continuing education and demonstrated experience may also be considered. Targeted salary range is $100 – $140K, and is negotiable depending on qualifications, with an excellent benefits package.
